Deadly Tornado Causes Widespread Damage Across Amory, Mississippi
Damaged buildings and uprooted trees littered parts of Amory, Mississippi, on Saturday, March 25, after a deadly tornado touched down near the area the night before. At least 25 people were killed and dozens more injured after the tornado tore through western Mississippi, officials said. Footage recorded by Robin Martin captures the aftermath observed across the city on Saturday morning. The City of Amory and Amory Police Department said a temporary curfew would be put in place, saying that the “Amory Water Department suffered a direct hit from the tornado.” On Saturday, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves declared a State of Emergency in the counties impacted by the severe storms.
