Dust Devil Whips Towels Into Air on South Carolina Beach
Towels went flying as a dust devil whipped across a South Carolina beach on May 24. Marty Hipp recorded this video while enjoying the day at Garden City Beach. She told Storyful she spotted the dust devil starting to form in the dunes. “That’s when I grabbed my phone to record it,” she said. “I was worried about the people on the beach and very thankful no one was hurt!” Beachgoers can be seen relaxing as the wind phenomenon lifts various items into the air, and someone in the video can be heard saying, “What in the world? I don’t want to be those people right there.” Credit: Marty Hipp via Storyful
