Two Chances to See Snowfall This Weekend, But Not Much to Shovel

Fresh on the heels of the holiday, snow looks to make its debut in many parts of the tri-state this weekend.

The latest forecast shows that snowfall could start in the overnight hours (around 2 and 3 a.m.) and clear out by the time the sun comes up Sunday. As for accumulations, areas to the north and west of New York City are likeliest to see accumulating snow.

Most in New York and New Jersey treated to falling snow won't have much to shovel, whether coated by an overnight snowfall or round two expected Sunday afternoon.

Storm Team 4 says a second round of showers are possible in the afternoon hours but could be mixed in with rain as well.

No matter the snow chances, everyone in the tri-state will feel the cold this weekend. Wind chills will be in the 20s and 30s through Saturday, but should calm down by Sunday.

The chilly weekend temps will feel 10 degrees below what we normally see -- so bust out those hats, scarves and gloves if they'll still in the attic.

Besides a few hours of light snow and rain possibilities, the weekend will stay relatively dry with lots of sun. Hanukkah begins Sunday with more cool conditions (and the aforementioned chance of snow).
