Ohio Man's 'Deer Friend' Gives Birth in Backyard

A doe enchanted a man in suburban Cleveland, Ohio, when she gave birth to three fawns in his yard on May 20. The lovely moment was recorded by journalist Gabriel Spiegel, who told Storyful that it was not the first time his “deer friend Ruby” had given birth in the family’s backyard. In the video, Ruby can be seen licking the first born, whom Spiegel named Sapphire, as the fawn attempts to stand on all fours. She then gives birth to two other babies. Spiegel said that other creatures “seriously came out to watch, admire and congratulate her,” with footage showing one rabbit nearby looking like a security guard, Spiegel said.
