Original Starbucks in Seattle Vandalised During Biden Inauguration Protests
At least one man was arrested by Seattle Police after the original Starbucks coffee shop in Seattle’s Pike Place Market was vandalised on January 20, amid protests held on the day of Joe Biden’s inauguration as president of the United States. Black-clad protesters marched through downtown Seattle with some members of the group graffitiing and damaging an Amazon store and a courthouse. Similar protests timed with Biden’s inauguration occurred in Portland, Oregon, which featured the vandalism of the Oregon Democratic Party’s headquarters. These videos posted to Twitter by Brendan Gutenschwager show the crowd marching into Pike Place Market and throwing bins to the ground. Video also shows the Starbucks store left with its windows smashed, along with a confrontation between the protesters and Seattle Police. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
