Severe Storm Causes Thousands To Lose Power In Route 1 Corridor
FORT HUNT, VA — Over 6,700 Dominion Energy customers are without power in the greater Richmond Highway corridor, according to an outage map.
Severe storms swept through the region Monday afternoon, causing outages in some areas. The Richmond Highway corridor was one of the hardest hit areas of Fairfax County. The highest number of outages as of 6 p.m. Monday was over 1,800 in Groveton and Hybla Valley east and west of Richmond Highway. The Belle Haven area had around 1,200 outages, while over 1,000 lost power in northern Fort Hunt.
Estimated restoration times will vary by area. Residents should check for updates on the Dominion Energy outage map.
