Soap Bubble Freezes in Minnesota Winter Creating Mesmerising 'Snow Globe'
A Minnesota photographer filmed the freezing of a soap bubble, which created a mesmerising “snow globe” in Graceville, Minnesota, on January 19. Carol Bauer filmed the video that shows crystals slowly emerging and expanding beneath a soap bubble during a winter sunset. Bauer told Storyful she thought the sunset was perfect so she decided to step out into the -3 degrees Celsius weather to “try and capture sunset thru a frozen bubble.” A “snow globe effect” in frozen soap bubbles is created by “hundreds of freeze fronts” forming on the bubble’s surface, according to a report in 2019.
