Snake blamed for Horry County power outage

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Power was restored shortly before midnight Friday to more than 3,400 Horry Electric Cooperative customers who lost service after a snake damaged the Lake Ridge substation,

The outage affected customers near Highway 544 in the Conway and Carolina Forest areas.

“We appreciate your patience as crews work to diagnose the problem and make necessary repairs to restore power,” the company said.
