Waterspout Churns in Galveston, Texas

A waterspout churned in the waters off Galveston, Texas, on August 25, as scattered showers and thunderstorms moved through southeast Texas. The National Weather Service commented that if a spray ring is visible at the surface of a waterspout, it means winds around it are at least 35 mph, and warned mariners to avoid the area.
