A school district spokesperson told ABC News 4 the decision was made due to the inclement weather, which may bring icy conditions.

ABC News 4 Storm Tracker Chief Meteorologist said on Facebook Wednesday that rain and freezing rain late Friday and Saturday could lead to a tenth or possibly even a quarter inch of ice. Williams said this is likely not enough to bring down trees and power lines but could cause some travel issues.

Williamsburg and Georgetown counties will be under a Winter Storm Watch from late Thursday night through early Saturday morning.
