Despite their political differences, the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole seem to have settled their rift.

Both politicians on Saturday, March 6, exchanged warm greetings at an event in Auchi.

Obaseki said he holds no personal grudges against Oshiomhole, Vanguard reported.

Obaseki and Oshiomhole reportedly exchanged greetings with an elbow-bump in compliance with COVID-19 preventive protocols.

The governor said:

“I don’t have anything personal against Oshiomhole. I may not like his politics, but he has not done anything personal against me. We all are interacting with the interest of the country and the development of our community at heart.”

Obaseki made the disclosure at the Centenary Birthday Thanksgiving of Monsignor Thomas Oleghe and 18th Canonical Erection Anniversary of the Diocese of Auchi held at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Auchi.

The Nation reported that Oshiomhole, who was a guest at the event, hailed his successor, describing him as ‘his brother and friend.

Legit.ng recalls that Oshiomhole, had opposed Obaseki’s second term on the platform of the APC.

The feud between both politicians prompted Obaseki to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on whose platform he won his second term in office.

Meanwhile, Adams Oshiomhole has said he is neither in opposition to his party nor to President Muhammadu Buhari as being reported in the media.

According to Vanguard, Oshiomhole on Sunday, February 28, said his statements about the APC registration and revalidation exercise weeks ago have been misinterpreted to mean he is fighting the leadership of the APC.

He stated that such an interpretation is not reflective of the comments he made about the registration exercise.

In another report, the Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Adams Oshiomhole.

AIT reports that the apex court also dismissed the prayer of the ex-caretaker committee chairman of the party in Rivers state, Igo Aguma over his sack by the Court of Appeal.

Legit.ng gathered that in the Judgement delivered by Justice Amina Augie, the court upheld the December 29, 2020 judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, which set aside an earlier judgment of the high court of Rivers state that the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the matter being an internal affair of the part.
