2. Tryon Palace

A replica of the 1760s Royal Governor's mansion.
Tryon Palace, formerly called Governor's Palace, served as the official residence and administrative headquarters of the British governors of North Carolina from 1770 to 1775. In 1798, the main building was burned to the ground and a new building resembling the original architecture was built and opened to the public in 1959. The palace consists of 16 acres of garden and a history center.

The John Wright Stanly House is a historic house, designed by John Hawks.
The John Wright Stanly House is a two-story five-bay Georgian style dwelling with a hipped roof and roof deck with balustrade. This also housed a public library from 1935 to 1965 and is presently restored as part of the Tryon Palace complex. This historic home is a unique and fascinating stop and is one of the best examples of Georgian architecture.

He invented Pepsi Cola in his pharmacy in 1898 and the original pharmacy location is where the Birthplace of Pepsi museum and cafe is now located. Several photographs related to the journey of Pepsi are hung on the walls. You can also find Pepsi merchandise, including apparel, collectibles, ornaments, ball caps, and more.
