CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape government will brief the media about its readiness to address the coronavirus.

Health MEC Nomafrench Mbombo is expected to share measures that have been already put in place.

The national government has repeatedly said it has measures in place to deal with a possible coronavirus outbreak but the SA Medical Association has warned that the country isn't ready.

Meanwhile, Africa has reported its sixth case of the coronavirus.

Algeria now has two more cases and Egypt detected its second case.

The epidemic has claimed more than 3,000 lives globally.
