Two unknown men were shot and killed in Camps Bay, Cape Town on Wednesday afternoon, 5 October. The shooting incident occurred along the bustling promenade in the upmarket beach area.

Ward 54 Councillor, Nicola Jowell, said two people were shot and killed in Camps Bay on Wednesday.

“The suspects appear to have been there to target the people who are now deceased. May they rest in peace. They then made off speeding in a vehicle out of the area,” said Jowell.

The councillor said the South African Police Service will release a statement on the Camps Bay shooting once they have “pulled the facts together.”

According to reports, the shooting happened at approximately 15:40 on Victoria Road. The bodies of the victims were not found next to each other. A police spokesperson told News24 the second body was found after inspecting the surrounding area.

The motive for the attack is unknown at this stage and no arrests have been made.

The South African reached out to the Cape Town police for comment, which was not received by the time of publication.
