Sasol working on 'green jet fuel'

PRETORIA - Sasol is working to develop what they call  'green jet fuel ' as part of the low carbon-based economy mix.

President Cyril Ramaphosa along with his German counterpart, Olaf Scholz, are launching a South African-German consortium to advance technology for aviation fuel production.

Sasol limited CEO, Fleetwood Grobler says this will enable them to develop the fourth generation catalyst systems.

He said, "project launch today [Tuesday] is about a research project that will enable us to develop the fourth generation of some of the catalyst systems which we will use in our technology...that will produce sustainable aviation fuel and this is then in collaboration with some German research institutes."
