Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates? Ayanda Patosi SPEAKS amid contract talk rumours

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Ayanda Patosi has opened up about links to both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates

Patosi has been the subject of interest from both Chiefs and Pirates according to separate reports this week, and it has since broken his silence with regards to the links.

Patosi has been in Iran for three years

Patosi, who plies his trade in the Iranian topflight for Foolad FC, has spent the better part of the last three years in Iran, but is rumoured to be flirting with a return to South Africa. He was first linked with a move to Pirates last week. With talks said to be under way between his team and Pirates. The report then went on further to say it was the Buccaneers who held the lead in the race for his signature.

Reports this week, however, have since come out claiming that Patosi is, in fact in advanced talks with Pirates, arch-rivals Chiefs. Those latest reports then went on to confirm that the midfielder actually wanted to come home having spent the last three years in Iran. Now speaking to Kickoff.com Patosi has explained the actual situation. 

Confirms he is out of contract soon

“It’s true my contract with Foolad is due to expire in June later this year, We have so far not yet discussed anything. I have had a wonderful stay here in Iran and the club have treated me well, There has never been issues during my time here.” Said Patosi speaking on his situation in Iran.

Patosi then went on to clarify rumours about him being in talks with both Chiefs and Pirates. 

“On the question, if I have some offers in South Africa, I would say there is a person who is handling my affairs back in South Africa,So far he hasn’t told me anything. If there’s an opportunity to return to South Africa and there’s a good offer, then why not.”.

Patosi then fuelled the rumours of joining either Chiefs or Pirates.

“I have always had the dream of playing for one of the biggest teams in South Africa, and if there is an opportunity of that happening I will highly consider that.”. Patosi concluded on the matter.
