SEOUL, Jan. 15 (Yonhap) -- Global investment bank Goldman Sachs said Tuesday it has launched a campaign with South Korean food manufacturer Sun-in Co. and the Korean Red Cross to provide bread to children of low-income families.

Under the "Breaking Bread Together" campaign, they plan to make and distribute fresh bread to children from families in the low-income brackets on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on where the children live.

After running a pilot program in the central city of Daejeon last year, they've decided to expand it to 16 cities across the nation, including Seoul, Daegu, and Gwangju, to reach out to around 1,100 households, according to the bank.

In 2017, Sun-in secured 34 billion won (US$30.3 million) of investment from Goldman Sachs.
