Taiwanese Pork-Stuffed Lotus Root

Less than 5 Easy steps to make a traditional Taiwanese homestyle dish. Follow these instructions and enjoy with friends.Ingredients:½ lb of ground pork1-2 Lotus Roots 1 tablespoon of soy sauce1 tablespoon of cooking wine1 teaspoon of oyster sauce¼ teaspoon of baking soda2 tablespoons of water1 tablespoon of cornstarch4 tablespoons chopped lotus root1 diced chinese sausage 2 tablespoons of chopped scallions2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro Preparation:Step 1:Add ground pork into large mixing bowl.Chop 2 tablespoons (each) of scallions and cilantro, add to bowl.Chop 4 tablespoons of lotus root, add to bowl.Dice one chinese sausage, add to bowl.Add soy sauce, cooking wine, oyster sauce, baking soda, water, and cornstarch.Mix well.Step 2:Cut lotus root into 15 “rounds” roughly ¼ inch thick.Lightly brush each each “round” with oyster sauce (top side).Stuff each lotus round with a tablespoon of meat mixture.Step 3:Heat frying pan with oil to medium heat.Add stuffed lotus roots.Pan fry both sides until golden brown.Lightly sprinkle chopped scallions as garnish. Plate and Enjoy!
